Dialing from within other Applications by Hotkey
How it works?:
  1. The xtelsio CTI Client must be running (in background).
  2. Mark a phone number in the other application.
This can be done automatically by checking the option "auto select field content". For DOS windows you have to use the mouse to mark the phone number.
  3. Press the defined key or key combination (e.g. Break-Key).
The marked phone number is transmitted into the clipboard and then dialed from xtelsio CTI Client.

via keyboard hotkey: Please select a key or a key combination you want to use for dialing.

Dialing from within other Applications with Middle Mouse Button (OCR)
This is a special feature that is based on OCR Phone number recognition (graphics analysis).
  1. The xtelsio CTI Client must be running (in background).
  2. You click on a phone number in any application with the middle mouse button. The Client attempts then to recognize the phone number by OCR. Hint: You should klick in the center of the phone number to optimize the detection.
  3. If a phone number has been recognized, a small dial-button with the phone number is shown.
Warning: It can happen that the phone number is not recognized correctly if no space is between digits or if peculiar fonts are used.
Dialing from within other TAPI applications
Activate "CTI Client TAPI-Connector": The TAPI Connector is a special TAPI driver, installed with CTI Client setup. You can use the TAPI Connector in other TAPI applications. If you dial a phone number in the other application, then this action is redirected to xtelsio CTI Client and is executed by the first configured TAPI device. So you can use special Client features also in other TAPI applications, like phone-number-formatting or the connectors for CAPI and Skype.
If you deactivate the TAPI Connector, the link between Client and TAPI driver is switched off, but the driver keeps installed in the system. You can also remove the TAPI driver from TAPI environment, if you don’t need it.
Dial by Numeric Key Pad
With activation of this option you can dial phone numbers by the numeric key pad.
  1. Start dialing...: Please select one button of the numeric key pad to activate the dial window.
  2. Enter the destination number by numeric key pad.
  3. Press Return to start dialing.

Start/Control of Other Applications – Interworking Control (IWC)
With activation of this option an additional button is shown below the edit line, by which you can start control sequences. You may use a control sequence to search for a phone number in another apllication like a telephone book CD.

Control Sequences: This list contains all already defined control sequences. A control sequence is used to remote control another application.

New... / Edit...: Open the dialog to create/edit a control sequence.

Nach oben / nach unten: Use these buttons to modify the order of the control sequences. This order affects the view of the control sequence start menu.

Hint: phone number search in telephone book CDs

Search in other applications - Interworking-Search (IWS)
By IWS you can search, for example, in an open Excel table for the phone number standing in the input line.

Start search of phone number: The search can be started immediately with an incoming phone call or manualy via IWS button. The IWS-button is shown below the edit line as soon as a target application is running and the edit line contains a phone number.

Activate application automatically: If this option is set, the target application is activated automatically. If this option is deactivated, the external search is started (with an incoming phone call) only then the target application is running (into foreground).

Excel, Access, Word: Mark all applications for which the external-search is supposed to be supported. It is used always the first found target application. The corresponding application icon is shown on the IWS button.
The target application is searched by their name (headline) which only the first name component is considered at (the name of the opened file remains unconsidered). If you want to consider the application name and the filename, then use the option "other".

Other (search by Ctrl+F): With this option you can specify other applications for IWS destination or select a standard application (Excel, Access, Word) by the name of the opened file. Select the wanted application from the drop-down list. Notice that the identification considers the entire header line including the currently opened filename.
The search in the other application is always started by the simulated key combination Ctrl+F. Please test first, whether the application opens a search-dialog in case of pressing Ctrl+F and that the edit line has the input focus.
